Access the online courses

In order to join Fire Tech’s online learning community, you will need to connect to Discourse. You will have received an email with a link to access this.

Alternatively, please check the ‘My account’ area and access the link there.

What to expect

The course is run remotely by one of our expert tutors. This means it is a live learning experience not recorded self learning. You will be in a small class with other remote learning students.

Your invite link will give your child access to our discord server where a tutor will provide further instructions on the day of camp. Prior to that simply have them join and make sure they have an account and username. If they already have a discord account and the name is inappropriate please make a new discord account for attending the classes.

You will need to give your real name to the tutor when asked so we can verify your booking. All Fire Tech Staff will be coloured Red or Orange – do not give any personal details to anyone else (other students).

On the first day of camp the tutor will grant access to a private channel for just students signed on to that particular class. Please be on time to not cause delays for your class.

Classes will be a combination of video of the tutor talking to camera, screen sharing or picture in picture of both. Your child will be able to talk to the tutor and the rest of the class.
