During our recent intensive week-long courses, we interviewed guest experts, who provided students with some extra inspiration during their lunchtimes. All of whom are working in the robotics and tech education industries.
This interview is with tech innovator Rehana Soltane, a Lead Instructor at Code First Girls – a company which has become the largest provider of free coding courses for women in the UK, having delivered over £20 million worth of free technology education and teaching three times as many women to code as the entire UK university undergraduate system!
Rehana is an educational and creative technologist, and works at the intersection of education, physical computing, robotics, wearable and creative technology. She has studied Pedagogical Sciences in the Netherlands and Psychology here in the UK, where she specialised in educational research.
She has previously worked with several companies including Girls Into Coding where she conducted several workshop activities in physical and creative computing, and running sessions with girls aged 10-14 at monthly coding events, aimed to get more girls into coding and tech.
