Python with Minecraft

Minecraft is an engaging environment that allows fans of all ages to exercise their creative powers, make exciting worlds and populate them with creatures and objects. One of the neat features of Minecraft is that it is possible to "hack" the Minecraft game with real Python code. Our students use Python to automate the building of huge structures, code shortcuts, and build a "game within the game".
Python is one of the world's most popular programming languages it is used by everyone from companies that are household names such as Instagram, Dropbox and Pinterest through to schools and colleges teaching the programming aspects of GCSE, A-Level and Degree Level Computer Science Courses. This course will help introduce students to the language in a fun, enjoyable way. Our Tutors will teach students how to set up a server on their local machine that will allow them to write Python code which will have an effect in the Minecraft world.
Over the course of the week, the students will program a number of elements in Minecraft using Python. This will build up to them creating a project on the final day, which may be an interactive game within Minecraft, it might be a huge structure that will be created at the snap of their fingers or it may be something imaginative which we haven't even thought of.

Coding With Minecraft

Have you ever wanted to be able to write a computer program that would talk to Minecraft and make things happen in the Minecraft World? Then this Experience is for you! We'll take you through the steps to get set up and ready to program, and demonstrate some of the fantastic things you can achieve.
In this Fire Tech Experience, we'll show you how to set up a Minecraft server on your machine, with a plugin that will allow you to write Python code to talk to the Minecraft World.
Once the server is set up you can write code to create a rainbow path that will follow you wherever you go. Create large buildings and other structures by running programs that you've written. Make simple animations that you can watch inside the Minecraft World.
By writing simple Python code you could build interactive content in the world, from multi-coloured disco floors to maze games where the maze changes as you walk through it. It's time to discover the possibilities of Coding in Minecraft!
FireTech Experiences are a new series of short, high interest, fun and engaging tech demonstrations and talks. These are delivered in webinar style, using Zoom, with the main expert tutor showcasing a new interesting aspect of technology and learning. Apart from Zoom, no other downloads are required.

Become a part of the Maker Movement by using Minecraft! In this course, you will make your own world, blocks and structures. As a Minecraft Maker with Fire Tech, you will be thrown into an intensive mix of creativity, gaming and engineering. Each student finishes with an impressive command of important computing concepts, practical making skills, and an enhanced understanding of how to expand and enjoy their Minecraft universe.
This is an engaging course for 9-12-year-olds that will get them building, designing, coding, and making, all using the Minecraft “sandbox”.
Minecraft is an incredibly popular block-building game, the second most downloaded game of all time. Through this course, students can gain experience in core computing concepts such as Computer-Aided Design, conditions, loops, and iteration.

Learn how to automate your Minecraft world! In this course, you will develop automated tools to mine and harvest resources as well as craft new items. You will truly become a Minecraft Machine Engineer!
As a Minecraft Machine Engineer with Fire Tech, you will be thrown into an intensive mix of creativity, gaming and engineering. Each student finishes with an impressive command of important computing concepts, practical making skills, and will have extended their understanding of how to expand and enjoy their Minecraft universe. 
This is an engaging course for 9-12 year olds that will allow them to delve deeper into advanced techniques for automating their worlds, whilst learning the basics of computer programming.

Through this course, students will gain an understanding of how simple circuits and logic gates work, how to automate processes in Minecraft and how to build automated machines to mine, plant, sow and build in the world.

Ultimate Factory Builder in Minecraft

Do you love building complex structures and making automatic Redstone machines? If you have played Minecraft before and want something new and exciting to challenge you or, if you have never played Minecraft but you’re a hands-on learner, then this is your course!
With the help of some awesome mods, the Ultimate Factory builder experience gives you more tools to build machinery that you won’t find in a normal game of Minecraft. From engines to transport pipes to Quarry diggers, there’s lots to play around with and learn. 
During the session, the instructor will demonstrate how to use these tools to build massive factories that take in ingredients and churn out crafted products
Whilst having fun you’ll be learning key concepts that we use in the computer science world and skills that you can take with you outside the game too!
