Fire Tech Day Camps
Students join us each day of their course and return home in the evenings.
This course teaches how to get started with creating 3D games using the Unity and C#. Designed to help both the complete beginner and those that may have tried some programming before learn the tools and skills needed to start making a diverse array of games.
Learn to code by creating games in the Java programming language. This courses uses gaming as a fun and creative way to master key computing concepts and coding basics. Students will use Java and the Greenfoot library to learn computer science theory, syntax, and object oriented coding.
Make music (and unique musical instruments!) the way the professionals do it and let your creative juices flow.
Fire Tech Crew is our Saturday term time course for exploration of all that is creative and inspiring in the world of youth tech! Students attend two hour sessions each week to explore robotics, games development, coding, app design, making, electronics and anything else that we think will pique their interest in different aspects of technology.
Learn, design and experiment with code! Gain knowledge in coding fundamentals and then rapidly proceed to using that knowledge with confidence while creating your own robots, apps, games and animations. This course is aimed at entry-level coders aged 9 to 11.
Become a part of the Maker Movement by using Minecraft! In this course you will make your own world, blocks and structures, and even experiment with different materials to create physical game controllers. As a Minecraft Maker at Fire Tech Camp, you will be thrown into an intensive mix of creativity, gaming and engineering and come out of it with an impressive command of important computing concepts, practical making skills, and an enhanced understanding of how to expand and enjoy your Minecraft universe. This camp is ideal for junior makers aged 9-12.
Get ready to wire up your Minecraft worlds with our Introduction to Redstone! Even if you're a seasoned Minecraft pro, there's plenty for you to learn. From basic traps to lighting systems and powered machines, Redstone offers Minecraft players a whole new range of opportunities to create amazing things.
Rapid Prototyping is a crash course is digital fabrication. 3D printing, laser cutting, vinyl cutting, vector design and more in this five day intensive introduction to the Maker Movement.
Work together in small teams to master our VEX IQ robotics challenges while learning to code in the C-based programming language ROBOTC. Campers will use a range of sensors and switches to build competition-ready robots, which they will then program and test before entering the challenge zone. This course is ideal for teenagers (12+) who want to get hands-on with engineering and coding!
Get familiar with Python, one of the most widely-used and widely-taught programming languages in senior schools, universities and businesses, and learn to code from the ground up. This course is for teenagers aged 14+ looking to get a grasp on coding fundamentals while building the confidence and skills to go onto code independently.
