Course Overview

Take your coding further with this second step in learning Python. This course builds on the Python fundamentals covered in the Teen Python Club course and helps you to deepen your knowledge of this powerful and popular coding language that is helping a wide range of industries push the boundaries of digital innovation and creation. Our specialist tutors will help you to develop more robust programming proficiency by developing your knowledge and use of advanced strings & expressions, file IO’s and data structures applied within challenge-focused environments. 

Whether you dream of building the next million pound start-up, working at Facebook or Google, or been a Data Scientist, this course will give you a valuable skill to build a rewarding career in whatever field you choose. 

In London the course runs for three hours each Saturday at 1.00pm at Chelsea Academy.

In Warrington the course runs for three hours each Saturday at 10.00am at Beaumont Collegiate Academy.

What students will learn

  • Write modular, reusable code by using Python functions and modules
  • Understand errors and exceptions
  • Learn about concepts of inheritance and operator overloading 
  • Learn how to do basic testing using basic password & security systems checkers
  • Use your programming to mine large information & data-sets 
  • Learn to use Python's more powerful coding constructs including regular expressions, data structures and object-oriented programming.

Who is this course suitable for?

No prior experience is required but there are some prerequisites for attending this course:

  • Must be between age 14 and 17 at start of course
  • Must bring own laptop (or rent one from us)
  • Strong understanding of English
  • Basic IT skills
  • Bring own lunch (Except Residential)
