Course Overview
This Rapid Prototyping Camp is at the vanguard of the Maker Movement, bringing innovative experimental and craft techniques to children and teenagers. Campers will generate ideas, problem-solve and make artistic or practical objects within the creative space where computer-aided design and laboratory-based experimentation intersect. After five days of intense activity in our Maker Lab, campers will have their own original projects to take home along with practical skills in design, modelling and digital manufacturing.
You will learn to use 3D design software (CAD and CAM) and produce products of your design using the latest technology in 3D printers, laser cutters and thermoform. Your tutors are leaders of the maker movement. Perfect for kids who are studying DT (Design Technology) at school or have an interest in building, design and tinkering. The course is split into Junior (10-12) and Senior (13-17) age groups. This class was inspired by the well-known MIT course How to Make (Almost) Anything.
