Course Overview

With huge demand for new effects-rich content from Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+, who knows, this could be your first step into an amazing career in the visual effects industry.

In this course you’ll use your own phone as the camera to compose scenes and capture video. You will then learn how to apply Hollywood-style visual effects that turn your footage into impressive clips guaranteed to blow your friends’ minds. Create the illusions of instant teleportation, blazing fireballs, walkthrough walls and so much more!

TV and film VFX producer and supervisor Simon Frame told an RTS Futures event at the end of May (2018), “U & VFX”, that, when he first started working in the VFX field in 1997, there were just 350 people working in Soho – then, as now, the centre of the industry.  Two decades later, numbers have risen almost 20-fold, to around 6,500. “The market has become huge,” said Frame, who has recently been working on Sky Atlantic’s historical fantasy Britannia. “There are so many ways in.” Want to get involved?
