Course Overview

Behind every great invention are some brilliant designers. Whether it’s a product, service or new system, there is an art to designing them. This beautifully designed Fire Tech Experience will cover Design Thinking and User Experience concepts that will help you think differently about the design of everyday things, and maybe even the things you plan to create yourself.

We begin with an overview and explanation of design concepts that help designers frame their thinking. We want students to gain a better understanding of how these thinking
frameworks affect the outcome of the final creation.

After looking at different design case studies, we explore the mental model that designers and businesses all over the world use: Design Thinking. We also touch on User Experience (UX) design which is now a vital skill in the world of digital products. Then it’s time for the super fun Mini Design Challenges!

FireTech Experiences are a new series of short, high interest, fun and engaging tech demonstrations and talks. These are delivered in webinar style, using Zoom, with the main expert tutor showcasing a new interesting aspect of technology and learning. Apart from Zoom, no other downloads are required.
