OMAN’S NATIONAL YOUTH PROGRAM FOR SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

The brief

The Diwan of the Royal Court of the Sultanate of Oman selected Fire Tech to create a program for top students, ages 15-17, to teach Fourth Industrial Revolution skills in an engaging and creative way. These skills included digital citizenship, coding, design, electronics and prototyping, as well as how to use these skills to solve problems on both a personal and a national scale .

How we helped

Fire Tech developed a bespoke curriculum development to achieve the program’s goals, hired and trained a team of 32 talented instructors, and delivered an in-country residential program over two weeks for 150 students. We also worked with a local partner who supported logistics and pastoral care. Workshops ranged from digital media (blogging, video production, and how to build in influential YouTube presence) to coding and hardware (a crash course in coding and electronics, and detailed work using the Arduino platform).

The results

Student feedback was excellent. Fire Tech was invited back for the 2020 programme, deliver a bespoke English and Arabic language online learning experience, and developing an updated Fourth Industrial Revolution learning programme for 200 residential students.
