Case Study: AMAZON FUTURE ENGINEER AND FIRE TECH RESPONSE TO COVID-19
With many schools closed due to COVID-19, Amazon Future Engineer in partnership with Fire Tech have launched a free virtual coding programme. This resource is available for students, teachers and parents until the end of the lock down. These resources cater for students aged 12 to 17 to help build computer science skills for students learning at home and covers computer programming aspects in line with Key Stage 3 and 4 of the English National Curriculum.

Case Study: AMAZON FUTURE ENGINEER
Amazon Future Engineer is a comprehensive childhood-to-career programme to inspire, educate, and enable children and young people, especially those from lower-income communities, to try computer science. Amazon invited Fire Tech to partner with them in running the first-ever Amazon Future Engineer programme outside the US, which is set to reach more than one million children and young people across the UK over a two year period.

Case Study: Winton Capital Management
London-based investment management firm, Winton Capital Management, provided £10,000 in scholarship funds for students to attend Fire Tech summer camps. They were on the one hand interested in supporting the students, but equally interested in promoting themselves as an employer to our tutors. Winton actively seeks to support the latest in technology education and research. Robin Eggar, Winton’s Head of Communications, said: “at Winton we love maths and science. The company has always been committed to actively encouraging research and education as well as engaging the public in how better to understand risk. It is very important for all our futures that young people are given as much opportunity as possible to embrace and engage with computer technology.”
